With interest rates rising to an enormous 15% and gas prices going to R10 per litre, we have now been thinking twice on how we spend our money. At last there is one bank that is in fact giving something back to their clients.

The minister of Housing, Dr Lindiwe Sisulu, recently challenged Absa to assist Government and Eskom in addressing the energy crisis that is facing South Africa. A week later, Absa home loans responded by making available a variety of lending options to enable consumers to purchase energy-saving products.

The South African government has recommended that consumers attempt to save between 10 to 20% of their current energy consumption as a way to assist in improving energy efficiency.

Absa costumers can are now able to buy a range of products such as solar water-heating devices, power generators and lightning solutions that can be reduce their overall consumption bill by up to a third.

All these products can be purchased at a 10 to 15% discount from all Absa approved service providers nation wide.
